Science Fair Judges Needed

One way CAPS gives back to communities throughout California is to help promote science fair education through 14 regional science fairs.  CAPS members find a winner from each and award a plaque and a check for $100.  Each regional winner is then eligible to compete for the CAPS outstanding young scientist award.  Three finalists attend a competition in Sacramento where the Outstanding Young Scientist is selected and announced.  This year, CAPS needs additional judges for the regional fairs, and YOU can help!  Most regional fairs need a team of five or six CAPS members to judge projects.  It’s fun and easy--a great way to encourage young people in the pursuit of independent learning.  Dates and locations of upcoming fairs are listed below.  If you can help, please contact CAPS staffer Linda Johnson: ljohnson@capsscientists.org or (916) 441-2629.
